Artist Statement
From the crowded subways of New York City to the surreal flora of the Santa Cruz coastline, I am interested in how things move together and split apart. I have been studying the impact and influence of positive and negative energies, and also playing with chakra colors to portray different feelings. I am influenced by my surroundings greatly; often I will look through photos I have taken on hikes around the desert and realize how much they influence my work. It is important as an artist, and as a person, to maintain a healthy childlike curiosity about the world around us. These paintings are very much inspired by my love of architecture, dance, music and nature.
